Physical Therapy consumers have the opportunity to be seen in the Program within either of the two contexts described below. Further information and scheduling appointments can be arranged by calling University Physical Therapy at (401) 874-2006.

Faculty Clinic

The Faculty Clinic is staffed by Assistant Clinical Professors who serve in joint positions through contracts with other state, federal and private agencies (RI Dept. of Labor and Training, RI MHRH, VA, Group Homes and RHRI). Students are involved in the Faculty Clinic on a voluntary basis serving as Physical Therapy Aides, or during observation rotations included in their curriculum.

The clinic provides services to the student body and local community. Referrals to the clinic are almost exclusively physician generated, the majority of which come from URI Health Services. Faculty/staff of the University and members of the local community access services at the clinic as well. Services include evaluation and treatment of various orthopedic and neurologic conditions, ergonomic work-station assessments, and assistive device assessments.
