Pending expected approvals, entry into the Program will be offered every June to 28 applicants on a competitive basis. Currently, we receive approximately 200 completed applications for a given year of entry. Part of the admissions process is the invitation of qualified applicants to participate in an interview. We believe this interview process is very important, enabling us to get to know the applicant better. More importantly, the interview allows the applicant to gain appreciation of the strengths and focus of our Program. As we invest considerable efforts in behalf of our students, our purpose of the applications process is to attempt to maximize the match between the strengths and objectives of the applicant and our Program.
Approximately half of each class is selected from Rhode Island residents, with the remaining half from out of state. Qualified minority candidates are encouraged to apply.
Physical Therapy education is long, difficult, and expensive. We encourage applicants to gain as much information about different programs as possible. Enrollment decisions can then be made on the best match of their learning styles and objectives, not on the first program that offers admission.
Please see the section on Application Process for further information on the Program application and required forms, and how to obtain them.
